[Reposed from Emily McGonigle Photography | Speed Retouch: Stray Hair Removal]
Last week I posted a BTS blog post from Emily Domer's senior portrait session. In that blog post, I shared a sneak peek final image from her session. What I *didn't* tell you was how much retouching went into that particular image, to remove some stray hairs from in front of Emily's face.
When I was culling images, trying to decide which one I wanted to post for the sneak peek, that photo immediately jumped out at me. Problem was, there was a decent amount of hair in Em's face due to the pretty strong breeze that day. The first thing I did was search for a similar photo that *didn't* have the hair in front of her face, because... why do all that retouching work, if you have the same photo *without* the hair, right?
Well it turns out, that particular image was the strongest of that pose, so I decided to go ahead and remove the hair from in front of Emily's face. And since I knew it was going to be a little more complex than a simple stroke of the Heal Brush tool, I decided to screen cap it so I could share the process with you all!
Check out this video I made of the retouch and let me know what you think!
So as it turns out, I really enjoy talking to people about photography, post processing, and sharing what I know. I'd love to keep writing about topics and making videos that are of interest to my followers in particular, so if you have a moment, leave a comment below and let me know what you'd like to see! Tell me what type of content you've enjoyed so far, what content you'd like me to expand on, what you haven't seen from me yet that you would *like* to see. I want to know! :)
And of course, if you have any questions about what you've seen in the video above, please feel free to ask those as well!
Until next time, fam!
